Easy Fried Rice

Aaron's moving out in a week so we've been packing up his stuff to leave at my house and that means packing up pots and pans and containers and etc. We've been lazy so not all the kitchen stuff has been packed and we've been trying to cook more so we can eat more healthy. Now fried rice isn't exactly the HEALTHIEST meal but we've kept it pretty simple. I didn't take pictures of our steps but i've taken pictures of the end result! :)

We used the Uncle Ben's whole grain boil-in-a-bag rice. We had it for awhile and decided to cook it and get it out of the way so we wouldn't have to pack it. It's very interesting. It comes in 4 small packs of rice with tiny holes in them and you just cook it in a pot of water. We cooked all 4 but only ended up using 3. We got one bunch of asparagus from walmart, canned corn, and some already cooked sausage.

Cook some cut up onions in olive oil. Then add the mixture of asparagus, canned corn and cooked sausage and cook that for awhile. We forgot that you should probably boil the asparagus and then cook them because they have a very "planty" taste. Also, cooking them in the oil for such a short period of time will not cook it thoroughly and it will still be a bit hard. Then add the rice. We added no salt and no pepper. The ratio mixture of asapargus, canned corn, sausage and onions to rice should be around 1:1.

Our fried rice! :) It was so delicious! The salt of the sausage was a a nice addition to the fried rice!

A close up of our fried rice!

On a side note, while at walmart, we found these blue raspberry twinkies!! My boyfriend said he pooped blue-ish greenish poop so have fun! hehe ;)
